Contoh teks report bahasa Inggris


REPORT TEXT

A. Ciri –ciri teks report
1.     Menggambarkan suatu obyek secara umum
contoh  : Elephant, Lion, Hand phone, Car, Peacock etc
2.     Menggunakan “ Present tense “
contoh : Car has an engine to run well,
3.     Menggunakan Be ( is, am, are )
contoh : Dolphin is categorized as mammal.
4.     Tidak ada personal pronoun (I, you) and possessive adjective (my, our).
5.     Teks ini biasanya kita jumpai di Ensiklopedia, materi biologi, artikel ilmiah dll.

B. Function : Menyampaikan informasi tentang sesuatu ( benda buatan manusia,  Gejala alam,
                   lingkungan atau gejala sosial ) secara apa adanya sebagai hasil pengamatan yang
                   sistematis dan berdasarkan fakta.

Generic Structure of Report Text
Title : Kangaroo

1. GENERAL CLASSIFICATION
    Berisi tentang apa yang
    ingin diberitakan/dilaporkan 
    secara umum.


A kangaroo is an animal found only in Australia, although it has smaller relatives .They are called wallaby, which lives on the Australian islands of Tasmania and also in New Guinea. There are 2 types of kangaroo. They are the big red kangaroos and the grey ones.



2. DESCRIPTION
   Berisi tentang ciri-ciri hal 
   yang dilaporkan.


Kangaroo eats grass and plant. It has short front legs. However, its back legs are very long and strong. Those are used for sitting and jumping. Kangaroo has been known with making forward, jumping over 8 meters and leaping across the fence more than 3 meters high. It can also run at speed of 45 kilometers per hour.

       Dolphins are our oldest friend in the sea. You can see dolphins swimming and playing in warm seas all over the world. Dolphins are popular at theme parks, too. There are many stories about dolphins. Sometimes, dolphins help ships in trouble. They also help people who are drowning.
       Dolphins are about 8-9 feet (245-275 cm) long. They weigh 400-500 pounds (180-225 kg). Dolphins are not fish. They are mammals. They live in large groups. Dolphins have strong feelings and great memories. They are also very smart.

-I have a pet. It is a dog and it is called Brownie because the color is brownish yellow.
Brownie is a Chinese breed. It is small, fluffy and cute. It has got thick brown fur.  When I cuddle it, the fur feels soft.

Task 3
A telephone is a device that transforms voices into electrical signals so that people can communicate over long distances. There are many different kinds of phone. Most home and office phones have keypads and many are now portable. Mobile phones are not physically connected to a network and can be used from almost anywhere. Videophones, which contain a small camera, give users a chance to see each other.

Task 4
A library is a place which collects records of what people have thought and done. It preserves those records, and it makes them available to us, so that we can learn about many things. In the library, we can entertain ourselves, teach ourselves, and be inspired by the ideas that we might never have dreamed of otherwise.
A library has many sections. Commonly, a library has a reading room, a catalogue section, a newspaper and magazine section, books section, and a librarian desk which deals with book circulation. The books are classified based on the subjects, such as fiction, science, psychology, etc. They are arranged on the bookshelves.
